Our friend May Li just sent us these photos of the event, along with some pictures from a greenhouse tour in China:

(In response to a question about these photos, May Li writes:

“The pictures are from two different green houses. The bigger one is new, construction not finished yet. The one with plants is 5-years old, with conventional design. They both are located in Shandong province, similar latitude as NJ.

The new one is not a conventional design, for sure. It is a big one and a big investment, too. It targets at becoming both an educational and signseeing project as well, which we can perhaps borrow some ideas.

The anti-flower drop method is a type of paint they use to increase the sturdiness of the stem. It is organic, I believe.

I talked to the leading expert, an experienced farming professional who lead the construction and operations of both projects. If needed, we can invite him as a consultant.”)
